INVESTOR FAQs

Key Questions Before You Invest

Clear answers to the questions most frequently raised by investors considering Turkish citizenship by investment.

1. What is the minimum qualifying investment?

+

The current minimum for qualifying real estate is USD 400,000. Bank deposits, government bonds, qualifying investment funds, private pension contributions, and fixed-capital investments generally require USD 500,000. The job-creation route requires employment for at least 50 people. Each route is subject to separate legal conditions and confirmation by the competent authority.

2. Can my spouse and children be included?

+

The investor’s spouse and eligible minor children may generally be included under the same qualifying investment. Eligibility depends on family circumstances, custody arrangements, and supporting civil-status documents. Adult children generally require a separate legal assessment.

3. Do I need to live in Türkiye?

+

The program does not generally require investors to reside continuously in Türkiye before or after acquiring citizenship. However, obtaining an investor residence permit forms part of the application procedure, and personal attendance may be required for certain administrative and biometric steps.

4. Can the process be handled through a power of attorney?

+

A substantial part of the investment, due-diligence, documentation, and application process can be coordinated through a properly issued power of attorney. Personal attendance may still be required for residence permit formalities, biometrics, or other procedures depending on the applicant’s circumstances and current administrative practice.

5. How long does the citizenship process take?

+

Timelines vary according to the investment route, document readiness, authority workload, and security reviews. In current practice, the citizenship decision stage often takes approximately four to six months after a complete application is filed. No specific completion date can be guaranteed.
